3rd Annual Beacon of Hope 5K Run/Walk October 24, 2009
Over 200 runners joined us on the Virginia Beach oceanfront for a scenic run/walk along the boardwalk. Special thanks to the Old Coast Guard station for their gracious hospitality, and to Tidewater Striders for their organizational support. This year INAL handed out Tech shirts to the first 200 participants in the 5K event. We also hosted the 1 mile memory walk, allowing those who have lost a loved one to suicide to honor their memory, and support prevention efforts in our community. We are thrilled that this event grows each year.

Need a Lighthouse hosted a wonderful evening at Church Point Manor. A
lovely Fall evening was marked by delicious food and soothing music in a

Lighthouse hosted over 105 Virginia Beach high school
students at our Teen Mini-Conference in 2009. We also welcomed 78 school staff
and mental
health professionals. The overwhelming success of this conference was
evident from the positive feedback we received from conference

2nd Annual Beacon of Hope 5K Run/Walk October 25, 2008
Our annual Beacon of Hope 5k was held at Fort Story in 2008. In spite
of chilly weather, we had lots of enthusiastic participants who joined
us in support of teen suicide prevention.
